8 of the Best Easter Crochet Patterns

Eastercrochet collage

Easter is coming and chocolate eggs are making me fat. I thought it would be fun to pull together my favourite crochet patterns for Easter and share them here. And the eggs have zero calories too which is always a bonus.

Are you doing any crafting for Easter? I would love to hear what you’re making.

{DIY} Handpainted Easter Egg Bags

Handpainted-colourful-Easter-egg-cosies-in-Egg-cups---Beak-Up-Crafts

Spring is my favourite time of year. All the bright colours, flowers and of course, Easter. I thought it would be fun to think up a bit of Easter decor that’s so simple you can make with your children and use to wrap either real or chocolate eggs.

These handpainted Easter egg bags are made using plain white cotton and DYLON Fabric paints. Tie a bit of twine around the top and you’re done!

What you need:

How to Make it:

  1. Cut your cotton into 15cm x 15cm squares for normal egg-sized eggs, or bigger for monster chocolate Easter eggs!

  2. Using the fabric paint (on a surface covered by newspaper) paint your design onto the fabric. I tried out three different types as I couldn’t decide on one.

  3. Put aside to dry.

  4. Once the paint has dried (this will take about 2-3 hours) take your egg and put it in the centre of your square. Gather up the sides and tie the twine on the top.

And that’s it! I think this DIY would be cute for little bags of mini chocolate eggs to give out at Easter parties or just for a pretty bit of decor.

Crochet Pattern: Monty the Rabbit

Monty close up

Easter is next weekend and bunnies, eggs and chicks are everywhere. Just don’t mention the chocolate. Seriously, I am eating WAY too much chocolate!

With new life and new beginnings all around, I thought it was about time I try to create my own amigurumi crochet pattern… so I got out my hook and some yarn and…

Introducing Monty, the floppy-eared, carrot munching rabbit!

Monty the rabbit

The pattern to make Monty is suitable for beginners, and while he is a cute and smiley addition to any Easter celebration he would look equally at home in a nursery or children’s playroom.

You can find the pattern in my brand spanking new Etsy Shop or by clicking here!

Having a sit down

I hope you enjoy making Monty as much as I did. I would love to see pictures of your versions of Monty – please email them to [email protected] and they could well feature on the site!

Easter Etsy Picks

Easter is just around the corner and I couldn’t let it pass without sharing some of my top handmade picks.

I’ve been working hard to get the new Beak Up Crafts blog up and running so haven’t had much time to make any Easter crafts I can share this time around, but there are so many pretty things available on Etsy it seemed a shame not to pick out a few of my favourites!
